At 16:29 two crews from Helston and Tolvaddon were mobilised to reports of the base of a cast iron stove on fire. On crews arrival the first informative was 'smoke issuing - make pumps 3'. A third appliance from Penzance was mobilised to scene, soon after a fourth appliance and a water carrier was requested - Mullion were mobilised along with the water carrier from Helston. Firefighters tackled the fire using one covering jet, two hosereel jets and four breathing apparatus. One casualty was treated on scene for smoke inhalation. At 17:25 crews confirmed the fire had been extinguished, ceiling hooks were used to expose the roof space to confirm the fire had not spread. Crews remained on scene for a time monitoring and damping down hot spots.
