Fire crews from Tolvaddon and Truro were called to reports of a property fire at 1:45pm today. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed a fire in the ground-floor kitchen of a detached HMO property measuring approximately 10 by 10 metres.
Using breathing apparatus, hose reel jets and a covering jet, crews brought the fire under control and safely rescued a woman from a first-floor room.
A subsequent fire investigation determined the fire was caused accidentally by a chip pan. Further kitchen fire safety advice is available on the Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service website below:
