Resources from St Just, Helston, Tolvaddon and Penzance are in attendance at a fire in the Nanquidno area. The fire is deep seated and has been burning for some time with our resources attending a number of times over the last few days.

Our Wildfire Response Pod has been mobilised and is also in attendance and our welfare trailer from Perranporth is providing welfare facilities.

As of 17:12hrs 16/07/2026 the incident commander has reported that good progress is being made, the wind direction has changed and crews are now working to widen firebreaks using the wildfire response equipment.

A drone has been utilised to give the incident commander better situational awareness.

Whilst crews are in attendance appliances from St Dennis, St Ives and Truro have been providing cover at the impacted stations.

Please can all people in the Sennen and Land's End area shut their windows and doors whilst our crews tackle the fire.
